HD Kumaraswamy Writes Second Letter to CM on Bidadi Township Project

Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has again urged the Chief Minister to visit Byramangala village, interact with affected residents, and discuss alternative solutions for the proposed Bidadi Township Project.

Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has written a second letter to Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, seeking an open discussion on the proposed Bidadi Township Project and requesting a joint visit to Byramangala village to understand the concerns of people likely to be affected.

In the letter, Kumaraswamy said he had not received a response to his earlier communication and expressed hope that the Chief Minister would respond this time. He has invited the Chief Minister to accompany him during his visit to Byramangala on June 27, where he plans to meet farmers, agricultural workers, dairy farmers, small business owners, and local residents.

According to Kumaraswamy, a joint visit would allow both leaders to hear the grievances of affected families directly and explore practical alternatives at the project site instead of relying only on official reports.

The Union Minister stated that he had already shared his views in an earlier letter sent on June 22 in response to the Chief Minister’s communication. He said the proposed Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township Project at Bidadi could have a significant impact on local livelihoods and therefore requires wider public consultation.

Kumaraswamy also mentioned that he has enclosed the schedule of his June 27 visit along with the latest letter. He urged the Chief Minister to visit Byramangala with officials from the Greater Bengaluru Authority so that decisions could be made after listening to the concerns of those directly affected by the project.
