Redmi 17C Debuts With 5160mAh Battery and 120Hz Display

Redmi has introduced the new Redmi 17C with a large display, Helio G81 Ultra processor, long lasting battery, and affordable pricing, targeting users looking for reliable everyday smartphone performance.

Redmi has officially expanded its budget smartphone lineup with the launch of the Redmi 17C. The new device arrives as the successor to last year’s Redmi 15C and focuses on delivering essential features such as a large display, dependable battery life, and smooth day to day performance at an accessible price point.

One of the major highlights of the Redmi 17C is its massive 5160mAh battery. The smartphone supports 18W wired fast charging, allowing users to stay connected for longer periods without worrying about frequent charging. With growing demand for devices that can easily last through a full day of use, Redmi appears to be targeting practical users with this offering.

The smartphone features a 6.88 inch display with HD plus resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It also comes with a 240Hz touch sampling rate and peak brightness of up to 600 nits, promising a smoother viewing and scrolling experience. The display has received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications, which are designed to improve viewing comfort during extended use.

Powering the Redmi 17C is the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset. The processor is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage, offering sufficient performance for everyday tasks such as browsing, social media, streaming, and casual gaming. Users can also expand storage through a memory card for additional flexibility.

On the camera front, Redmi has equipped the smartphone with a 13 megapixel rear camera designed for regular photography needs. For selfies and video calls, the device includes a 5 megapixel front facing camera. While the camera setup remains simple, it aligns with the smartphone’s budget focused positioning.

The Redmi 17C also includes a side mounted fingerprint scanner for security and quick device access. Connectivity options include 4G support, Wi Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, BeiDou navigation, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of accessories and networks.

Additional sensors on the smartphone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and electronic compass. The device measures 171.88 x 77.8 x 8.22 mm and weighs approximately 206 grams.

In China, the Redmi 17C has been launched in Blue, Red, and Black color options. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 799, while the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model carries a price tag of CNY 899. Redmi has not yet announced plans for the smartphone’s availability in international markets, but the device is expected to attract attention among budget conscious buyers looking for a large screen and dependable battery life.
