Heavy Rain Set to Lash Karnataka; Coastal Belt on High Alert
The southwest monsoon has intensified across Karnataka, bringing forecasts of widespread rainfall over the coming days. Three coastal districts are under a Red Alert, while Bengaluru is expected to enjoy cool weather with intermittent showers.

The southwest monsoon has become more active across Karnataka, with the weather department forecasting widespread rainfall in several regions over the next few days. Coastal and Malnad districts are expected to receive the heaviest downpours, prompting authorities to advise residents to remain cautious.
Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada have been placed under a Red Alert due to the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall. Strong winds are also expected, and people living near rivers, low-lying areas and the coastline have been advised to stay alert. Fishermen and tourists are urged to follow official weather advisories before venturing out.
Rainfall activity is also expected to increase across the Malnad districts of Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu. Officials have warned of the possibility of waterlogging and isolated landslides in hilly regions, asking commuters to exercise extra caution while travelling.
Bengaluru is likely to continue experiencing pleasant weather with overcast skies throughout the day. Light showers are expected during the morning and evening hours, while a few parts of the city may witness moderate rain accompanied by thunder.
Elsewhere, districts including Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Kolar and Davanagere may receive scattered showers. In North Karnataka, rainfall is expected to support agricultural activities in Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri and Gadag, bringing much-needed moisture to farmlands.
With the monsoon becoming more active across the state, residents are advised to keep track of weather updates and take necessary precautions, especially in districts expected to receive intense rainfall.
