Paytm Introduces New Labels Feature to Simplify Recurring UPI Payments
The latest Paytm update helps users identify subscriptions and recurring payments easily, reducing confusion and making automatic payment management more organized and transparent every month.

Managing multiple subscriptions has become a common challenge for digital payment users, especially when monthly deductions appear without a clear reminder of the service behind them. To address this growing issue, Paytm has introduced a new Labels feature for UPI Auto Payments, allowing users to organize and identify recurring transactions more easily.
The new feature is designed to bring greater transparency to automatic payments. With a personalized label attached to each recurring transaction, users can quickly understand where their money is going without having to investigate merchant details every time a payment is deducted.
As subscription based services continue to grow across entertainment, cloud storage, productivity tools, and digital platforms, many consumers find it difficult to track recurring charges. Often, different services from the same provider appear under a single merchant name, creating confusion when reviewing monthly expenses.
For example, subscriptions such as cloud storage plans, premium video streaming services, or AI based applications may sometimes be grouped under a common merchant identity. When users review their transaction history weeks or months later, remembering the exact service linked to a payment can become difficult.
Paytm says the new Labels feature is intended to solve this problem by giving users complete control over how their recurring payments are identified. Instead of relying solely on merchant names, customers can assign custom labels that make sense to them, helping create a more organized payment dashboard.
The process of adding a label is straightforward. Users need to open the Automatic Payments section within the Paytm application and select the recurring payment they want to rename. From there, they can choose a suggested label or create a custom one based on their preference. Once saved, the label becomes visible in both the payment list and transaction details screen.
Financial experts note that better visibility into recurring payments can help users manage budgets more effectively. It can also reduce the risk of accidentally canceling an important subscription simply because the payment source was unclear. With digital subscriptions becoming a larger part of everyday spending, tools that improve financial awareness are increasingly valuable.
The launch also reflects Paytm’s broader focus on improving user convenience. The company has been steadily expanding features that make digital payments easier to understand and manage, especially for younger and more digitally active consumers.
Earlier, Paytm introduced its Pocket Money feature aimed at teenagers. Built on the UPI Circle framework, the service allows young users to make digital payments without opening a personal bank account. Parents can authorize spending, monitor transactions, and maintain control over financial activity while giving children limited access to digital payments.
With the addition of Labels for Auto Payments, Paytm is taking another step toward simplifying the increasingly complex world of digital subscriptions. As consumers sign up for more services across different platforms, the ability to clearly identify and manage recurring charges could prove to be a useful tool for maintaining better control over personal finances.
