Congress Faces Fresh Pressure as Zameer Supporters Step Up Protests

While KH Muniyappa's displeasure over portfolio allocation appears to have been resolved, supporters of Zameer Ahmed Khan have launched protests demanding a place for him in the state cabinet.

Bengaluru: Political developments within the Karnataka Congress continue to attract attention as the debate over cabinet formation and portfolio allocation remains active. Although one major dispute appears to have been settled, another has gained momentum across the state.

Senior leader KH Muniyappa, who had expressed disappointment over his assigned portfolio, is now understood to be satisfied following discussions with the party’s central leadership. Meetings involving top Congress leaders reportedly helped ease tensions and restore confidence.

At the same time, supporters of Zameer Ahmed Khan have organized demonstrations in several districts, demanding that he be included in the state cabinet. Protesters argue that he deserves representation in the next round of ministerial appointments.

Political observers note that the upcoming cabinet expansion could prove crucial in balancing regional, community, and party interests. Several legislators are also waiting for an opportunity to secure ministerial positions in the second list.

As internal consultations continue, the Congress leadership faces the challenge of maintaining unity while accommodating competing expectations from party leaders and supporters.
