Heavy Rain Floods Bengaluru Roads, Flight Delayed from Landing at Airport
Intense rainfall across Bengaluru caused severe waterlogging, disrupted traffic movement, and forced an incoming flight to remain airborne temporarily before landing at the city airport.

Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning swept across several parts of Bengaluru on Monday evening, creating widespread disruption for commuters and residents returning home from work.
The sudden downpour left many major roads waterlogged, slowing traffic movement and causing long delays across the city. Areas including Majestic, Vijayanagar, Jayanagar, Banashankari, Rajajinagar, Shivajinagar, Koramangala, HSR Layout, Hebbal, Yelahanka, and several other localities witnessed significant rainfall.
Commuters faced considerable difficulties as water accumulated on roads and underpasses. Many people were seen taking shelter at bus stops, shops, and commercial establishments while waiting for the rain to ease.
Some of the worst waterlogging was reported near Bagmane Tech Park and Marathahalli, where roads resembled streams after continuous rainfall. Traffic movement between Kadubeesanahalli and Bellandur was also affected after water collected on a flyover ramp near Devarabeesanahalli.
The weather also impacted air travel operations near Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli. Due to intense rain and unfavorable weather conditions around the airport, an IndiGo flight arriving from New Delhi was unable to land immediately and remained in the air for some time before receiving clearance.
Passengers traveling from the airport towards the city also reported delays and inconvenience because of the rain. Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions as forecasts indicate the possibility of further showers in the region.
