WhatsApp Launches Incognito Chat for Meta AI Promising Fully Private Conversations Even from Meta

WhatsApp introduces Incognito Chat feature for Meta AI claiming fully private conversations powered by secure processing where even Meta cannot access or store user messages during AI interactions

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called Incognito Chat for its Meta AI platform, aiming to give users a higher level of privacy during their conversations with artificial intelligence. The company claims that this feature ensures complete confidentiality, where even Meta itself will not be able to access or read the messages exchanged.

The rollout of this feature comes as more users turn to AI chatbots for personal and sensitive discussions. Many people now ask AI systems about health concerns, financial planning, work related advice, and even private life situations. WhatsApp says this growing trend makes privacy protection more important than ever.

According to the company, Incognito Chat works on a system called Private Processing. When a user starts this mode with Meta AI, the conversation is handled in a secure environment where messages are not stored or linked to long term records. WhatsApp emphasizes that these chats are temporary and automatically disappear after use.

One of the key claims made by WhatsApp is that the conversations will not be saved in any form. The idea is to create a space where users can freely ask questions or explore ideas without worrying about being tracked or monitored. This approach is being positioned as a stronger privacy focused alternative compared to traditional AI chat systems.

The company also highlighted that in many existing platforms, even incognito style modes may still allow companies to access certain data for improvement or analysis. However, WhatsApp insists that its implementation is designed to prevent both storage and access, even by Meta, making it more restrictive in terms of data visibility.

In addition to Incognito Chat, Meta is also preparing to introduce another feature called Side Chat in the coming months. This feature is expected to allow users to interact with Meta AI during ongoing conversations without disrupting the main chat flow, while still maintaining private processing standards.

WhatsApp has confirmed that the Incognito Chat feature will be gradually rolled out across WhatsApp and the Meta AI application in the coming months, giving users a more private way to interact with AI powered tools.
