Singapore Airlines to Bring Starlink High Speed Wi Fi for a Smarter In Flight Experience
Singapore Airlines announces Starlink powered internet rollout from 2027 promising faster connectivity onboard enabling streaming gaming and seamless browsing across long haul flights with full cabin coverage

Air travel is set to become far more connected as Singapore Airlines prepares to introduce high speed in flight internet powered by Starlink. The airline has confirmed that the new service will begin rolling out from the first quarter of 2027, marking a major upgrade in onboard digital experience for passengers.
The rollout will initially cover selected aircraft including Airbus A350 900 long haul, A350 900 ultra long range, and A380 models. Over time, the service is expected to expand across more of the airline’s fleet, with full implementation targeted by the end of 2029.
At the core of this upgrade is Starlink’s low Earth orbit satellite network, which consists of thousands of satellites operating in space. This system is designed to deliver high speed internet connectivity even at cruising altitude. According to technical estimates, the Aero terminal technology can support speeds of up to 1 Gbps per antenna, making it significantly faster than traditional in flight Wi Fi systems.
For passengers, this means a noticeable change in how they stay connected during flights. From takeoff to landing, travelers will be able to enjoy continuous internet access, allowing them to stream videos, play online games, browse social media, and even send large files without interruption.
The airline has emphasized that the upgrade is aimed at improving the experience across all travel classes. Whether passengers are flying in economy or premium cabins, the goal is to offer a more consistent and reliable digital environment throughout the journey.
Importantly, Singapore Airlines has also confirmed that its existing free Wi Fi policy will remain in place. Eligible passengers including Suites, First Class, Business Class travelers, as well as PPS Club members and KrisFlyer members in Premium Economy and Economy cabins, will continue to enjoy unlimited complimentary internet access on Starlink equipped flights.
The introduction of this service reflects a broader shift in the aviation industry where connectivity is becoming as important as comfort. As passengers increasingly expect seamless digital access even in the sky, airlines are investing in advanced satellite technologies to meet these demands.
With this partnership, long haul travel is expected to feel more connected and productive, reducing the gap between ground based internet experiences and in flight connectivity. Once fully deployed, passengers may no longer see air travel as a time away from the digital world, but rather an extension of it.
