Corruption is Congress’ real guarantee, BJP attacks over ED raids in bitcoin case

Bengaluru ;The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a sharp attack on the Indian National Congress following recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids linked to the alleged bitcoin scam, claiming that “corruption is the Congress party’s real guarantee.”

In a post on social media platform X, the BJP alleged that the ED  raid on properties linked to Congress MLA N. A. Harris and his son Mohammed Nalapad has exposed what it called the “true face” of the ruling party in Karnataka. The party claimed that the raids are part of a larger probe into money laundering and illegal financial transactions associated with the bitcoin scam.

“The dark truth of the bitcoin scam is slowly coming out. The ED raids on the residences of Congress MLA Harris and his son have stripped the mask off the Congress government,” the BJP said in its statement.

The controversy revolves around alleged links between Nalapad and Srikrishna alias Sriki, the prime accused in the high-profile cryptocurrency hacking case. According to BJP leaders, the alleged financial dealings between the two point to a larger network of black money transactions that they claim has defrauded the public.

The party also questioned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, asking him to clarify his position on the issue. “You keep delivering lectures on ethics and governance. What is your response to your MLA’s involvement in this bitcoin racket?” the BJP asked.

According to reports, the ED conducted early morning raids across multiple locations, including residences, offices, and firms allegedly linked to Nalapad. The   reportedly extended to cryptocurrency-related firms in Electronic City and other areas in Bengaluru, where officials examined documents and digital records.

Investigators are also probing allegations that funds linked to the scam were used for high-value expenditures, including booking helicopter services through private aviation firms. The development has reportedly triggered concern among individuals and entities who may have been connected to such transactions.

The bitcoin scam itself dates back to earlier investigations into cybercrimes involving international exchanges, where Sriki was accused of hacking platforms and siphoning off cryptocurrencies worth crores.

While the Congress has not issued a detailed response yet, the BJP has intensified its political offensive, portraying the  incident  as evidence of systemic corruption. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are expected to release more details in the coming days.
