Netanyahu dismisses death rumours, appears in new video with US envoy

The clarification comes after social media was flooded with claims over the past week suggesting that Netanyahu had been killed amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

New Delhi : Amid widespread speculation over his alleged death, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has released a fresh video alongside US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, firmly dismissing the rumours and confirming that he is “alive and well.”

The clarification comes after social media was flooded with claims over the past week suggesting that Netanyahu had been killed amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. The rumours gained traction after an earlier video posted on his official X account showed what appeared to be an anomaly—six fingers on one of his hands—fueling speculation about the use of deepfake technology.

In the latest video released on Tuesday, Netanyahu is seen walking and conversing with Huckabee, who states that he was sent by US President Donald Trump to personally check on the Israeli leader. “I was asked to ensure that you are doing well,” Huckabee says in the clip.

Responding with a smile, Netanyahu says, “Yes, Mike, I am alive,” directly addressing the viral rumours. The exchange also included a lighter moment, with Huckabee joking that he was relieved his own name was not on Netanyahu’s “punch card.”

During the conversation, Netanyahu also made pointed remarks about ongoing Israeli military actions, referencing senior Iranian figures such as Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani. He suggested that Israel is actively targeting threats linked to Iran, particularly groups pursuing nuclear capabilities.

Netanyahu further praised US support, stating that Israel stands “shoulder to shoulder” with American forces in countering what he described as dangerous threats to both nations.

The video appears to be a direct attempt to counter misinformation and restore clarity amid heightened geopolitical tensions and an ongoing information war online.
