The Central Health Department has declared a high alert in India and has given strict instructions to the state governments to immediately check the precautionary measures taken in the hospital for the health of the public after Another deadly virus detected in China.

The Secretary of the Union Ministry of Health has written to the States and Union Territories. He also directed to take steps to increase basic facilities like beds, medicines, influenza vaccines, oxygen, antibiotics, personal safety equipment and other test kits in hospitals.

All States and Union Territories should implement the guidelines followed in case of Covid if necessary as a precautionary measure. He has also warned to keep close watch on those with symptoms of infection and severe respiratory problems.

Adolescents and children should be closely monitored under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Scheme. Also, if cases of ILI and SARI are detected in medical college hospitals and other public hospitals, information of such cases should be uploaded on IDSP-IHIP portal. Also examination of throat fluid and SARI cases should be carried out.

In particular, it has been suggested that samples of children should be tested and sent to virus research and diagnostic laboratories. In China, this virus, which has pneumonia-like symptoms, directly affects the lungs and causes breathing problems.

So schools have already been declared holiday in China. The number of patients is increasing and the beds in the hospitals are also filling up. In this context, the Center has taken precautionary measures in India.
