India has expressed concern about Indian nationals in Ukraine after the airstrikes by the Russian army. India has advised its citizens not to travel to Ukraine without necessity. The advice comes after Russia attacked several Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv. About 10 people were killed and about 60 injured in the attacks across Ukraine. In view of the current escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine.

They are advised to strictly follow the safety and security guidelines issued by the Government of Ukraine and local authorities. Indian Embassy in Kyiv said.

Indian nationals in Ukraine are expected to inform the embassy of their presence in the country. Officials said that this will enable the Indian government to contact them in times of emergency.

While India has not openly condemned Russia’s moves to invade Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said “this is not the time for war” during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month.
