Vivo X500 Pro Max Expected with 200MP Periscope Camera and Major Display Upgrade
New leaks suggest Vivo is preparing its next flagship X500 series featuring advanced imaging technology, multiple display sizes, and powerful hardware aimed at premium smartphone users later this year

Vivo is reportedly working on its upcoming Vivo X500 series, which is expected to debut towards the end of this year. Although the company has not officially confirmed the lineup, early leaks have already started revealing key details about the devices, including camera improvements, performance upgrades and new display configurations that aim to push the series into the premium segment.
Recent information shared by tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo suggests that the Vivo X500 lineup may arrive in two different display sizes, including 6.4 inches and 6.9 inches. Among these, the Vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to be the top tier model, currently being tested with a 50 megapixel primary camera featuring LOFIC technology. This system is designed to manage light more efficiently in bright conditions by redirecting excess charge to a separate capacitor, which helps improve dynamic range and reduce overexposure in photos.
The camera setup on the Vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to be one of its strongest highlights. Reports suggest it may feature a 200 megapixel periscope telephoto lens, focusing on high quality long distance zoom photography. Along with this, Vivo is also believed to be working on a multispectral sensor aimed at improving color accuracy and white balance, making images appear more natural and balanced in different lighting conditions. A 50 megapixel ultra wide camera is also expected to be part of the rear setup.
Beyond photography, earlier leaks indicate that the device could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, paired with a massive 7000mAh battery. The display is likely to be a 2K LTPO flat panel supporting up to a 144Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth visual experience for gaming and everyday use. Security features may include an in display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for faster and more reliable unlocking.
The Vivo X500 series is expected to include standard, Pro, and Pro Max variants, giving users multiple options depending on their needs. While official confirmation is still awaited, industry sources suggest that the series could launch in China around September this year, marking Vivo’s next major step in the flagship smartphone space.
