Vivo X Fold 6 Expected to Bring Major Camera and Battery Upgrade in Next Foldable Launch
Upcoming Vivo foldable smartphone tipped to feature 200MP camera Snapdragon flagship processor and larger battery as competition in foldable segment intensifies globally

The foldable smartphone segment continues to expand rapidly, with major brands pushing innovation to capture a growing premium market. Now attention is turning toward Vivo and its next generation device, the Vivo X Fold 6, which is expected to arrive as the successor to the X Fold 5.
Recent leaks suggest that the upcoming device may bring significant improvements in both photography and battery performance. A 200 megapixel primary camera is being speculated, marking a major leap for Vivo’s foldable lineup. Along with this, reports also indicate a larger battery capacity designed to support heavy usage throughout the day.
Interestingly, the device has already appeared in IMEI database listings, which often signals that a launch is approaching. This has added to the anticipation among tech enthusiasts who are closely tracking the evolution of foldable devices in the premium smartphone space.
Performance upgrades are also expected to be a key focus. The smartphone may be powered by the next generation Snapdragon flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This would position the device as a high end competitor capable of handling demanding tasks, multitasking, and advanced mobile gaming with ease.
Battery discussions around the device have also attracted attention. Tipsters suggest that Vivo could equip the X Fold 6 with a capacity as large as 7000mAh, while still maintaining a lightweight design. If true, this would address one of the most common concerns in foldable phones, which is limited battery endurance due to dual display structures.
Foldable devices have already seen strong progress in recent years, and competition is intensifying. Companies like Samsung currently dominate the segment globally, but Chinese manufacturers such as Vivo are steadily gaining ground with aggressive hardware upgrades and design improvements.
To understand the expected evolution, it is useful to look at the previous generation. The Vivo X Fold 5 featured a large AMOLED inner display measuring over 8 inches with high refresh rate support and peak brightness levels suited for outdoor visibility. It also included a secondary cover display for quick access without unfolding the device.
The earlier model was powered by a flagship Snapdragon processor and offered up to 16GB RAM along with fast UFS storage options. Its camera system included a triple rear setup with three 50 megapixel sensors, covering wide, ultra wide, and telephoto perspectives. This helped establish Vivo as a serious competitor in foldable imaging capabilities.
On the software side, the previous generation ran a customized Android experience optimized for large foldable screens, along with advanced multitasking features. A sizable battery with fast charging support ensured that the device could handle heavy daily use despite its powerful hardware.
With the X Fold 6, expectations are clearly higher. The combination of a potential 200MP camera, next gen chipset, and larger battery could make it one of Vivo’s most ambitious foldables yet. As the market continues to evolve, all eyes are now on how Vivo positions its next big foldable against strong global competition.
