VinFast VF MPV 7 Set for India Launch with 60.1 kWh Battery and 500 km Range Claim

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast is expanding its India lineup with a new electric MPV offering long driving range modern features and strong safety ratings targeting family focused electric mobility buyers

Vietnam based electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is preparing to strengthen its presence in India with the upcoming launch of its new electric MPV, the VinFast VF MPV 7. The vehicle is scheduled to officially debut on April 15 and has already started attracting attention due to its claimed long range and family oriented design.

The new MPV is expected to come equipped with a 60.1 kWh battery pack, which the company claims can deliver a driving range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. Bookings for the model have reportedly opened at a token amount of 21000 rupees, indicating early interest from potential buyers.

Before its official arrival, details about the vehicle design and dimensions have already surfaced. The VF MPV 7 is said to measure 4740 mm in length, 1872 mm in width, and 1734 mm in height. It features a modern exterior design with slim LED headlamps and connected tail lamps, giving it a contemporary road presence.

Inside the cabin, the MPV is expected to offer a practical and tech focused layout. It may include a 10.1 inch infotainment screen, adjustable steering setup, and both USB A and USB C charging ports for passenger convenience. The design emphasizes usability for families and long distance travel.

Performance wise, the vehicle is likely to feature a front mounted electric motor producing around 150 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. It is expected to support three driving modes and accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 10 seconds, making it suitable for both city driving and highway cruising.

The safety and comfort package is also a key highlight. Features such as electronic parking brake with auto hold, stability control systems, all disc brakes, and keyless entry are expected to be part of the standard offering. These additions aim to improve both convenience and driving confidence.

With this launch, VinFast is positioning the VF MPV 7 in a competitive segment where it will face rivals such as Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7. The company is clearly targeting the growing demand for electric family vehicles in India.

VinFast already has a presence in the Indian market with models like the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs. The VinFast VF 6 comes with a 59.6 kWh battery and offers a range of around 468 kilometers, while the VinFast VF 7 delivers up to 532 kilometers depending on the battery variant.

Both SUVs have helped the company gain early traction in India, especially after receiving strong safety ratings. The VF lineup has achieved five star ratings in Bharat NCAP assessments, strengthening consumer confidence in the brand.

With the upcoming VF MPV 7, VinFast appears to be expanding its focus beyond SUVs into the family MPV segment, aiming to capture buyers looking for spacious, efficient, and long range electric mobility solutions in the Indian market.
