Redmi Smartphone Prices Rise Again in India
Redmi has increased prices of several Redmi 15 and Redmi Note 15 models in India once again. Some variants are now selling up to Rs 5500 higher than their original launch prices.

Budget smartphone buyers in India may now have to spend significantly more on popular Redmi devices. Xiaomi sub brand Redmi has once again revised the pricing of its Redmi 15 and Redmi Note 15 series smartphones, making multiple variants costlier across the country. The latest increase has come into effect immediately, and several models have now become much more expensive compared to their original launch prices.
According to dealer updates shared online, the latest price revision adds up to Rs 2000 on selected variants. However, if compared with the launch prices from last year and early 2026, some phones have witnessed a total increase of up to Rs 5500. The move is likely to disappoint buyers who were planning to upgrade to a new 5G smartphone in the affordable and mid range segment.
The Redmi Note 15 series is among the devices affected by the latest revision. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version of the Redmi Note 15 was earlier available at Rs 24999, but the price has now gone up to Rs 26999. Similarly, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, which was earlier selling for Rs 27999, is now priced at Rs 29999. Both variants have become Rs 2000 costlier overnight.
Interestingly, the current prices are much higher than the original launch pricing announced earlier this year. When Redmi Note 15 debuted in January 2026, the base 8GB and 128GB model started at Rs 22999. It has now reached Rs 26999, showing a total hike of Rs 4000. The higher storage variant launched at Rs 24999 and has now climbed to Rs 29999, marking a total increase of Rs 5000 since launch.
The Redmi 15 lineup has also received a fresh price revision. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant was previously available at Rs 18499, but buyers will now have to pay Rs 20499. The 8GB RAM and 128GB version has gone from Rs 20499 to Rs 22499. Meanwhile, the top end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is now priced at Rs 24499 instead of Rs 22499. Every model in the series has become Rs 2000 more expensive.
The increase looks even sharper when compared with the original launch price of the Redmi 15 series. The smartphone was introduced in August 2025 with a starting price of Rs 14999. Now the same base variant is retailing at Rs 20499, making it Rs 5500 costlier than its debut pricing. This steady rise has surprised many consumers in the highly competitive budget smartphone market.
Industry experts believe the repeated price hikes could be linked to rising component costs in the global electronics supply chain. Reports suggest that shortages in memory and storage components are affecting smartphone manufacturers worldwide, especially brands operating in the budget and lower mid range categories. RAM and storage prices have reportedly gone up over the past few months, putting additional pressure on production costs.
Despite the higher prices, both the Redmi 15 and Redmi Note 15 series continue to attract buyers because of their strong specifications. The smartphones offer large displays, capable cameras, reliable battery life and modern 5G connectivity at relatively affordable pricing compared to premium flagship phones. However, with repeated price increases, customers may now begin comparing alternatives from brands like Realme, Motorola, Poco and Samsung in the same segment.
So far, Redmi has not officially revealed the reason behind the latest revision. Buyers planning to purchase these devices may now have to decide quickly, as further price changes in the coming months cannot be ruled out in the current market situation.
