Motorola Razr 70 Ultra Tipped to Bring Bigger Battery and Upgraded Foldable Experience

Upcoming Motorola clamshell foldable smartphone is expected to feature improved battery performance powerful processor and refined design upgrades aiming to enhance user experience in the premium foldable segment

The foldable smartphone space continues to evolve, and Motorola is preparing to strengthen its position with a new device in its Razr lineup. The upcoming Motorola Razr 70 Ultra is now making headlines due to several early leaks that suggest meaningful upgrades over its predecessor.

One of the biggest changes expected in the new model is a larger battery. Reports indicate that the device could feature a 5000mAh battery supported by 68W wired fast charging. This marks an improvement over the previous generation, which came with a 4700mAh battery in the Razr 60 Ultra.

Performance upgrades are also expected to play a key role. The device may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM. The smartphone is likely to run on Android 16 based Hello UI, offering a smoother and more intelligent software experience.

Display improvements are another highlight being discussed in leaks. The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra is expected to feature a 7 inch inner foldable screen with a resolution of 1224 x 2992 pixels. On the outside, it may include a 4 inch cover display with 1080 x 1272 resolution, allowing users to access key functions without unfolding the device.

Interestingly, the design language of the phone is also expected to evolve. The device may arrive in color options such as Orient Blue Alcantara and Pantone Cocoa Wood, with one variant reportedly featuring a textured finish for a more premium feel. A dedicated Moto AI button on the side could also be introduced, adding quick access to smart features.

Camera capabilities are likely to receive attention as well. The outer display is rumored to house a dual 50 megapixel camera setup, while the inner display may include a 50 megapixel front camera placed in a hole punch cutout. This suggests Motorola is focusing on maintaining high quality imaging across both folded and unfolded states.

Additional hardware details include standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth, NFC, and USB Type C. The layout is expected to place volume and control buttons on the right side, while a secondary microphone may be positioned at the top corner for improved audio capture.

Recently, a Motorola device believed to be part of this lineup was spotted on certification listings with model number XT2655 4, further fueling speculation about an upcoming launch. The previous generation, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, already offered a 7 inch foldable pOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and high peak brightness levels, setting a strong benchmark for the new model.

If these leaks turn out to be accurate, the Razr 70 Ultra could represent a significant step forward for Motorola in the competitive foldable smartphone market.
