Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i Brings AI Features and 120Hz Display to Premium Laptop Segment

Lenovo has expanded its laptop portfolio with the launch of the new IdeaPad Slim 5i 15IWC11, a model designed for users looking for a balance of productivity, AI capabilities and premium design. The laptop has already appeared on Lenovo’s global product listing pages, although the company is yet to officially confirm its launch timeline in several markets.

One of the major highlights of the new IdeaPad Slim 5i is its focus on AI driven performance. Lenovo has equipped the laptop with Intel’s latest Wildcat Lake processors along with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit. The NPU can deliver up to 17 TOPS of AI computing power, allowing the laptop to support Microsoft AI PC features and Copilot integration. A dedicated Copilot key has also been included for quicker access to AI tools.

The company is offering the laptop with Intel Core 5 320 and Intel Core 7 350 processor options. Both variants feature a six core architecture with a mix of performance and efficiency cores. Lenovo says the laptop is built to handle multitasking smoothly, whether users are working on office applications, streaming content or using AI assisted features throughout the day.

Display performance is another area where the new IdeaPad Slim 5i stands out. The laptop features a 15.3 inch IPS touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Lenovo has used a 1920×1200 resolution panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving users more vertical screen space for productivity tasks. The display also supports up to 400 nits brightness and offers sRGB color coverage, making it suitable for entertainment, casual creative work and everyday usage.

Lenovo has also focused heavily on portability and design. The laptop comes with an aluminium chassis and weighs around 1.48 kilograms, making it relatively lightweight for a large screen device. The clean grey finish gives the device a professional appearance aimed at both students and office users.

The new model is available with up to 32GB RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage. However, Lenovo has confirmed that the RAM is soldered directly onto the motherboard, which means users will not be able to upgrade memory later. Buyers planning long term usage may therefore prefer choosing the higher RAM option from the beginning.

Battery life could become another strong selling point for the IdeaPad Slim 5i. Lenovo is offering two battery variants including a larger 70Wh option. According to company claims, the bigger battery can deliver up to 22.8 hours of local video playback under ideal conditions. Real world usage may vary depending on brightness levels, applications and connectivity settings.

Connectivity options on the laptop include two USB Type C ports, two USB Type A ports, HDMI 2.1, a microSD card reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Lenovo has also added a 1080p webcam with a physical privacy shutter and Windows Hello face recognition support for added convenience and security.

The laptop has already been listed in several global markets including Australia, Germany, France, Malaysia and the United Kingdom. Pricing varies depending on the region and configuration. Lenovo is expected to reveal wider availability and official sale dates in the coming weeks.

With AI powered features becoming increasingly common in modern laptops, the IdeaPad Slim 5i appears to target users who want future ready performance without moving into the ultra premium category. The combination of a high refresh rate touchscreen, lightweight design and long battery backup could make it an attractive option in the competitive mid premium laptop market.
