HMD Vibe 2 5G India Launch Nears With Flipkart Listing and Fresh Design Hints
Upcoming HMD smartphone expected to bring design upgrades improved display and refined performance while targeting budget 5G users through online sales and competitive features in Indian market

HMD Global is preparing to expand its presence in India with the upcoming launch of the HMD Vibe 2 5G, a successor to last year’s Vibe lineup. The company has already dropped early hints about the device through an online teaser, signaling that the official debut may not be far away.
The new smartphone is expected to be sold via Flipkart, where a dedicated microsite has gone live. The page reveals glimpses of the front design, suggesting a flat display along with a punch hole cutout for the selfie camera. This marks a subtle shift in design language compared to earlier models and reflects a cleaner, more modern approach.
While the company has not shared full specifications yet, expectations are naturally being shaped by its predecessor, the HMD Vibe 5G. That model featured a 6.67 inch HD plus display with a 90Hz refresh rate and was powered by a Unisoc chipset, offering basic performance for everyday use. It also included a dual rear camera system led by a 50 megapixel sensor and a modest front camera for selfies and calls.
Battery performance is likely to remain a key focus in the new version as well. The previous model packed a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, which catered to users looking for reliable all day usage. Security features such as a side mounted fingerprint sensor and promised software updates also helped it appeal to budget conscious buyers.
Alongside the Vibe series, HMD is also reportedly working on another device, the HMD Crest 2 Pro, which could target a slightly higher segment. Early reports suggest it may feature a larger AMOLED display with a higher refresh rate, a more powerful Snapdragon processor, and an upgraded camera setup including a high resolution front sensor.
With competition heating up in the affordable 5G segment, HMD’s upcoming launches appear aimed at strengthening its portfolio with practical upgrades rather than drastic changes. The Vibe 2 5G, in particular, is expected to focus on design refinement and balanced performance, appealing to users who want a straightforward and dependable smartphone experience.
More details, including pricing and full specifications, are expected to be revealed closer to the official launch next month.
