BYD Unveils New Atto 3 Version with Extended 630 KM Range and Faster Charging
Chinese EV maker introduces upgraded Atto 3 electric SUV with improved battery options faster charging technology and premium features as competition in global electric mobility space continues to intensify

The electric vehicle market is witnessing rapid innovation, and BYD has once again stepped forward with an upgraded version of its popular electric SUV, the BYD Atto 3. The latest iteration brings improved range, faster charging capability, and enhanced interior features aimed at strengthening its position in the global EV segment.
One of the biggest highlights of the updated model is its claimed driving range. The vehicle is said to offer up to 630 kilometers under CLTC testing standards, making it more suitable for long distance travel compared to earlier versions. The SUV is offered with two battery pack options, allowing buyers to choose based on their driving needs and budget preferences.
Interestingly, the upgraded Atto 3 was showcased at a major auto event where its new fast charging technology drew significant attention. Reports suggest that the vehicle can charge from 10 percent to nearly full capacity in around nine minutes using BYD’s latest flash charging system, marking a notable step forward in EV convenience.
Design updates also play an important role in this version. The SUV now features refreshed rear styling with new tail lights, a floating roof effect, and an illuminated brand logo. These changes give the vehicle a more modern and premium appearance, aligning it with global design trends in the electric SUV category.
In terms of size, the new model is slightly larger than the version previously introduced in India. This increase in dimensions translates into better cabin space and improved road presence, which are important factors for family oriented buyers considering electric SUVs.
Inside the cabin, the Atto 3 continues to focus on comfort and technology. Features such as a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, a premium multi speaker audio system, and a redesigned steering wheel enhance the overall driving experience. Fast charging ports and modern connectivity options further add to its practicality.
The SUV is equipped with two battery configurations. The smaller 57.54 kWh pack is expected to deliver around 540 kilometers of range, while the larger 68.54 kWh version extends that figure to approximately 630 kilometers. Both variants use a rear mounted electric motor setup designed for efficient performance.
A performance focused variant of the Atto 3 lineup has also been introduced recently under the name BYD Atto 3 Evo. This version comes with a larger battery pack and enhanced power output, offering quicker acceleration and improved driving dynamics for users who want a sportier electric driving experience.
The Evo variant demonstrates how quickly BYD is evolving its product lineup, offering multiple configurations to suit different markets. With higher power output, faster acceleration, and improved top speed, it highlights the brand’s focus on performance alongside efficiency.
However, despite these upgrades, the company is also preparing for price adjustments in certain markets, including India, due to rising material costs and global supply chain pressures. This could lead to a slight increase in the pricing of its electric vehicle portfolio, which already includes multiple models across different segments.
With growing competition in the electric mobility space, BYD’s latest Atto 3 update reflects a clear push toward longer range, faster charging, and more refined design. As EV adoption continues to rise globally, such improvements are likely to play a key role in shaping consumer choices in the coming years.
