Mysuru: The vehicle pass giving to Chamundi Hill has been cancelled

The police department has cancelled the vehicle pass issued to Chamundi Hill on Ashada Fridays as they are being misused. Vehicular traffic to the hill was restricted on Ashadha Friday and Goddess Chamundeshwari’s Vardhanthi. Mysuru: The vehicle pass giving to Chamundi Hill has been cancelled.

And vehicle passes were issued by the Commissioner of Police’s office to go to Chamundi Hill only in accordance with certain urgent requirements. But due to these passes, the number of private vehicles in Chamundi Hill was increasing. It was also heavy traffic. But this action has been taken with the aim of providing smooth arrangements for the public to have a darshana of Sri Chamundeshwari Devi at Chamundi Hill and to avoid large number of vehicles traveling to Chamundi Hill.

No vehicle pass will be issued by the office of the Commissioner of Police to go to the hill on the coming Ashada Fridays, July 15, 20 and 22. City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta said on Monday. The public can use city transport or free KSRTC busses as arranged by the temple management on next Ashada Fridays and Vardhanti days of Goddess Chamundeshwari.

They requested to travel to Chamundi Hill in buses and follow the designated queues in the temple to get darshan of God. The police department has decided not to issue a pass even for Vardhanthi on July 20. Devotees are also advised to travel by buses. For the last 2 years due to Corona, the temple was struggling without devotees for the special puja of Ashada month.

This time there is a requirement covid vaccine certificate and negative certificate for the devotees who come for the special pooja to the mother of Goddess Mahishasura Mardini Chamundeshwari in the month of Ashadha.
