Karnataka Semi Lockdown for 2 weeks, CM Bommai call emergency meeting today

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai on today 4pm January 17 called a meeting of experts of the health and disaster department to discuss the rise in Covid-19 cases in the state. In meeting may Expect to impose 2-week semi lockdown in state. Covid cases blast in most of the districts. Schools and colleges are become covid hot spot. CM Bommai government may impose strict restriction for 2 weeks.

Karnataka minister for Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Dr. Sudhakar K on Sunday informed that the state’s Covid-19 positivity rate neared 20%, as cases rose in Karnataka. The state recorded 34,047 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours. The state capital Bengaluru also recorded 21,017 itself in 24 hours.

The state’s positivity rate neared 20 as the state registered 19.29% in the past few days. The 5,902 people recovered from the Covid-19 and were discharged in the state. The total active case tally in the state stands at 1,97,982, of which 146k is in Bengaluru itself.

Dakshina kannada 782, Udupi 591, Mysuru 1892, Tumkur 1373, Mandya 709, Bellary 566, Belgavi 468, Kalburgi 562, Kodagu 148, kolara 552, Shivmogga 287, Uttara kannada 447, Vijayapura 103, Dharwada 634, Bengaluru Rural 722, Chikkamagaluru 135 Covid cases in 24 hours. The total number of deaths in the state was thirteen in the past24 hours, of which five were in Bengaluru. The total tests conducted in the state was 1,76,470.

The Karnataka government on Saturday restricted the hospital visit as Covid cases rise in the state. In an order, the government said only sick patients requiring emergency care may visit hospitals and autonomous institutions. Thirty-two police personnel of Kolar and KGF, who were on duty at the Congress’ Mekedatu padayatra have tested Covid-19 positive, the Kolar police confirmed on Sunday.

As per police information, Covid-19 infection has been confirmed in a total of 32 policemen who had been deployed for the Congress march for the Mekedatu project. Karnataka, it reaches over 34,000 cases, situation in state get worsen day by day.
