Heavy rainfall for 2 days across Karnataka: Yellow Alert declared in 12 districts

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall again for two days from today in many districts of the state including coastal Karnataka and Malnadu area. Heavy rainfall for 2 days across Karnataka: ‘Yellow Alert’ declared in 12 districts.

On July 29 and 30, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in many districts of Coastal, malnadu, north and South Interior; Yellow Alert has been announced in 12 districts today. A yellow alert has been issued for all coastal districts and Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kodagu, Shimoga, Tumkur districts tomorrow.

Several parts of north India will continue to receive heavy rainfall during the coming few days. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), enhance rainfall activity over north India during the next three to four days. The Met Department said, “The western end of monsoon trough at mean sea level is near its normal position and the eastern end is north of its normal position.

The western end of monsoon trough is very likely to shift northwards during next 2-3 days.”Heavy rainfall is predicted over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining northern plains, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh. Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms or lightning are very likely over Jammu and Kashmir and West Uttar Pradesh on July 29.

Similar weather conditions will prevail over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh till July 31 and over East Uttar Pradesh till August 1. Isolated very heavy rainfall is also very likely over Punjab, north Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh on Friday.

Rainfall is also likely over central, west, east and south India during the next three to four days. Isolated heavy falls are very likely over Jharkhand on July 30, over Bihar Between July 29 and August 1, over Gangetic West Bengal on July 31 and over Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh till August 1. Coastal Karnataka is also expected to witness isolated heavy rainfall on July 29 and August 1.
