Covid-19 new variant finally enter school: student test positive in Karnataka

Those above 60 years of age, with comorbidities and symptoms of cough, sputum and fever, in the wake of detection of a case of Covid-19 sub-variant JN.1 in the neighbour state Kerala, were told by the Karnataka government on Monday to make it mandatory to wear face masks.

A student who was a resident of Byramangala, Bidadi Hobli of Ramanagara district has been infected with corona virus, and the infected student will be isolated for 2 days, Ramanagara district health officer Kantaraju has informed.

Action should be taken to fill medical cylinders. Inspect and report on performance of ‘Pressure Swing Adsorption’ (PSA) oxygen generators, medical oxygen units, ICU equipment and ventilators. Medical gas pipeline should be inspected. Action should also be taken regarding the availability of medicines’ said in the circular.

He said that ‘ICU equipment, including PSA oxygen production unit, should be used for the repair of equipment of various units, and the machinery should be kept in good condition’.
