BJP questions namaz at Kempegowda airport terminal
Bengaluru: The Karnataka BJP has raised concerns over people performing namaz inside the high-security zone of Kempegowda International Airport. The party has demanded clarification from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and IT Minister Priyank Kharge on who granted permission for such an activity in a restricted area.
BJP spokesperson Vijay Prasad shared photos and videos of the incident on social media, questioning how such an event was allowed in Terminal 2, one of the airport’s high-security zones.
He asked whether the participants had prior permission from the relevant authorities and pointed out the apparent double standard: while the government reportedly restricts RSS path marches, it seems to allow religious activities in sensitive areas without scrutiny.
Vijay Prasad emphasized that permitting namaz in such a sensitive location raises serious security concerns, calling for immediate clarification on who authorized the activity and the government’s rationale behind allowing it.
