Anna Bhagya Scheme: Over 3 lakh ration card holder will not get money from this month

The Karnataka government has taken action to cancel the BPL ration cards that have not received ration for the past six months, and there is a fear that over 3 lakhs of families will be cut off along with the ration, Anna Bhagya Scheme money and other facilities.

After implemented Anna Bhagya scheme in Karnataka people and government both facing different problem. The Siddaramaiah led Karnataka government has taken steps to cancel the 3.26 lakh BPL card which does not collect ration from the ration distribution centers under the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

The Siddaramaiah led Karnataka government has taken steps to cancel the BPL card which does not collect ration from the ration distribution centers under the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. There are 1,16,95,029 BPL card holders in Karnataka. 3.26 lakh card holders have not received a ration for six months.

Government will save Rs 5 crore per month to the government due to cancellation of non-ration cards. The government is thinking of canceling the ration card without giving any advance notice to those who are not using it. The food department said that they are not getting ration for 6 months and the government has instructed the department to cancel such cards.

Thus, the department is conducting a behind-the-scenes exercise to suddenly cancel the cards without giving any notice to the card holders who do not get the ration, and there is outrage across the state. During the Karnataka Assembly Elections, the Congress had announced distribution of 10 kg of rice to cardholders under Anna Bhagya Yojana, one of the five guarantees.

However, due to insufficient supply of rice, the system of giving money instead of rice has been implemented from June 10. To get this facility, families with cards should get ration at least once in three months from fair price shops. Otherwise, no money will be received. If government cancel these ration card over 3 lakh ration card holder will not get Anna Bhagya money from this month. An estimated 8 lakh BPL card families who do not receive ration are deprived of the direct cash system.
