World Cup 2023 semi-final: The league stage matches of the ICC World Cup 2023 have come to an end. The semi-final fight will start on another day. In the first semi-finals, India and New Zealand will fight, while in the second match, South Africa and Australia will face each other.
These matches will be held on November 15 and November 16 respectively. The International Cricket Council ICC has announced rain rules for this match. Here is the report on how this rule will be.
World Cup 2023 semi-final Reserve day:
There was no reserve day for any match in the World Cup 2023 League stage. A decision was taken to award one point each to the two teams if the league level matches were canceled due to rain. Although some matches were interrupted by rain, none of the matches were cancelled.
Now there is no need to worry if the semi-final rains and the match does not take place on the scheduled day. Because there will be a reserve day here. There is a reserved day for the finals as well.
What is the result if it rains on the reserve day?
Once the semi-final matches are interrupted by rain and the reserve day is not held, the question of how the result will be decided has started to bother all the cricket fans. Here is the answer. If the match is not completed even on the reserve day, then the team with more points and run rate in the league stage will enter the final. For example, if the semi-final between India and New Zealand is cancelled, India will benefit. Because India topped the table. Thus India will enter the final.
Once the points of the teams facing each other in the semi-finals are equal, then the team leading in the run rate will get the advantage. Australia and South Africa have 14 points each. But South Africa is ahead in run rate. Thus, if this match is canceled due to rain, South Africa will directly enter the final.
In the last World Cup final, when the super over was tied, boundary calculation was done for the result. This caused a huge controversy. This time the boundary rule has been removed. This time, if there is a tie in either the semi or the final, a super over will be played until the result is reached.
