Pakistan mentor Mathew Hayden is excited at the prospect of facing India in the final after the Babar Azam-led side thrashed New Zealand in the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Sydney on Wednesday. Notably, there have been calls for an India vs Pakistan final since Babar Azam’s team and Rohit Sharma-led side reached the semi-final of the T20 World Cup. Hayden was elated after Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan stitched an opening stand of 105 runs to set the tone for Pakistan’s seven-wicket win over New Zealand.
“Fantastic. Tonight was very special and a few things came out for us. Everyone will talk about Babar and Rizwan, but that bowling attack did an unbelievable job,” Hayden told broadcasters. “Sky is the limit and both of these guys have done it for Pakistan for a number of years and I also want to mention Haris as well.
