RCB release these 3 Indian players for IPL 2023

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has never won an Indian Premier League (IPL) title, the Red Army is one of the most popular franchises. Some report says that may RCB release these two Indian players for IPL 2023. The sheer reason is the presence of former RCB skipper and world class batter, Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli’s brand image is immense and he is a popular cricketer among the masses. RCB also had the likes of ABD Villiers, Chris Gayle and have presently popular players like Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik and Faf Du Plessis in their ranks. RCB finished 3rd last season and had a pretty good outing.

However, they would be keen on tightening a few screws and leave aside a few players who are not fitting into the balance of the RCB skipper Faf Du Plessis-led RCB side. In this article, we take a look at 3 players RCB are likely to release ahead of the auction:

1. Karn Sharma

Karn Sharma is also one of the players Royal Challengers Bangalore might release before the IPL 2023 Auctions. The franchise chose Karn Sharma as the backup leg-spinner for Wanindu Hasaranga. However, they might have to invest more in this role for IPL 2023.

Hasaranga can be inconsistent and it is not sure if he would do well at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Therefore, the team will have to scout for a younger and more suitable option as the Sri Lankan’s backup. To make that happen, Karn Sharma could be released.

2. Anuj Rawat

RCB splashed a huge amount of money for wicket-keeper batter Anuj Rawat in the IPL 2022 Mega auctions. Having been bought for a whopping Rs. 3.4 crore, Rawat’s huge price-tag backfired and that was evident in his performances. Even though he started off well, Rawat became a shadow of his previous self and managed to muster 129 runs in 8 games at a dismal average of 16.13.

3. Siddharth Kaul

Siddharth Kaul was quite the sensation in the Indian cricket team in 2018 and played his first ODI in 2018 against England. He was a good fast medium pacer of India and had played 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is for India. Kaul however managed to play only 1 game in IPL 2022 and he failed to impress everyone as he went wicketless. RCB might think of getting better backup pacers in the coming mini-auction.
