Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of former Indian cricket team captain MS Doni, celebrated her 32nd birthday on Thursday. Sakshi was spotted with her family and friends in Dubai as pictures of the gala birthday bash surfaced online.
One of the pictures also saw Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her husband Shoaib Malik joining Sakshi for the birthday celebrations.Dhoni was recently in UAE for his commitments with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season.
With the COVID-19 still rampant across India, the veteran cricketer and his family chose to celebrate the occasion in the Middle East with his family than back home in Ranchi.Sania, who stayed with her parents in Hyderabad for the most part of the COVID-19 lockdown, had the opportunity to celebrate Sakshi’s birthday in Dubai, with her husband and veteran Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik also in company.
Sania took to Instagram to share a picture from the occasion on the platform. Despite the fierce rivalry between Indian and Pakistani cricketers, this was another example of how well these players get on with each other off the field.
Both Dhoni and Malik are two veterans of the game and have had several duels with each other on the field. But off it, they remain good friends. Both Dhoni and Shoaib had some free time despite cricketing activities resuming in full swing across the world. Dhoni no longer had to travel with the rest of the members of the Indian cricket team to Australia having retired from international duty.
Dhoni, Sakshi and their daughter Ziva were recently spotted vacationing in UAE, quite possibly as a build-up to the 32nd birthday. Shoaib, on the other hand, wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s T20I squad for the tour of New Zealand as the board looks to put faith in younger talent. Sania, too, doesn’t have any active tournaments to participate in at the moment.
