Mohammed Shami wife Hasin Jahan appeal Supreme Court to arrest Shami

Indian cricket team player Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has moved Supreme Court against an order passed by Calcutta HC which had dismissed her plea seeking to lift stay on the arrest warrant against Mohammed Shami. Earlier, a Sessions Court in West Bengal had stayed the arrest warrant issued against her husband..

Hasin Jahan had first brought up the allegations of domestic abuse and adultery against Mohammed Shami in 2018 when she filed a police complaint in Jadavpur. The estranged wife of the cricketer has been relentlessly pursuing the case against Shami even as the fast bowler has continued to deny all allegations.

In her plea, Hasin Jahan has again alleged that Shami used to ask for a dowry. In a shocking allegation, Hasin Jahan, who worked as a moden and cheerleader in the IPL, has claimed that Mohammed Shami has been continuing to have extra-marital affairs even on his tours with the senior national cricket team.

“Mr. Shami used to demand dowry from her and that he has been continuously involved in illicit extra-marital sexual affairs with prostitutes, especially during his BCCI tours, in the hotel rooms provided by the BCCI, even till the present day.

Mrs. Hasin Jahan has alleged in the Petition that Mr. Shami used to use his 2nd mobile phone- HTC company, mobile no. +447864905556, for managing all his affairs in relation to prostitutes and the said phone was seized by the Lal Bazaar Police, Kolkata, in connection with the present crime.

However, Mr. Shami, as per the allegations in the Petition, still continues to be involved in sexual activities with prostitutes,” the petition said. Shami and his elder brother Hasib Ahmed were questioned by Kolkata Police’s women’s grievance cell in 2018 and the Alipore Court even issued an arrest warrant against the Indian cricketer.

However, the arrest warrant was later stayed. The Indian cricket board (BCCI) Anti-Corruption Unit gave Shami a clean chit after Hasin Jahan even alleged that Shami was involved in match-fixing. Hasin Jahan’s latest plea in the Supreme Court alleged that sessions court in Kolkata passed the order to stay action against Shami even though the cricketer “did not even pay for the stay of criminal trial and his sole grievance was only against the issuance of arrest warrants”.
