Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023: India will face Pakistan on tomorrow July 19
India vs Pakistan: The cricket fans around the world are all set to witness the mouth-watering clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The ‘A’ teams of both the countries will be squaring off against each other in the highly anticipated ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023 on Wednesday (July 19).
India A will be led by a group of promising youngsters who have already showcased their skills on the domestic stage. Players such as Yash Dhull, Dhruv Jurel, Sai Sudarshan and Abhishek Sharma will be looking to make a lasting impression following their stellar IPL seasons and pave their way into the senior national team.
A second-string Indian side with a lot of inexperienced youngsters will face a tough challenge from Pakistan with players who have already represented them at the top level.
India A started their campaign brilliantly as they won their first two games pretty comprehensively. They first defeated the United Arab Emirates emerging team in the first match, followed by a win against Nepal in the second and qualified for the semi-final stage.
It has been a dominating performance from the entire Yash Dhull-led unit. The bowlers did the major damage to the opposition in the first two games, restricting them to below-par total and leaving a relatively easy target to chase for the batters.
On the other hand, Pakistan A won their first two games as well and are currently placed second in the group behind India A on net run-rate. They had a brilliant day with the bat in their last outing against UAE A, scoring over 300 inside fifty overs. The bowlers were equally good to finish things off by a huge 184-run margin.
The youngsters in green will be now looking to win their last group match against arch-rivals India and finish the group stage at the top spot going forward to the knockouts.
