Lucknow and Ahmedabad player list out for IPL 2022

IPL 2022 mega auction will take place on February 12 and 13, 2022. The venue of the event is Bengaluru. About one thousand players are expected to register their names for the tournament. Out of these, about 250 are expected to be listed in the final draft and will go under the hammer. Lucknow and Ahmedabad player list out for IPL 2022.

The IPL 2022 auction was earlier expected to take place in the first week of January. However, there was an issue with Ahmedabad franchise owners CVC Capitals due to their links to betting companies. The inquiry delayed the further process. However, now both the teams are ready to go ahead with the auctions. Ahead of the auction, Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be allowed to pick 3 players each in their squad from the pool of released players.

Out of these, there can be only 1 overseas player. Both the new franchises have been given a deadline of January 22 to finalize their 3 players. Lucknow has named former Zimbabwe cricketer Andy Flower as their head coach. Vijay Dahiya has been appointed as the assistant coach for the team. According to reports, Lucknow franchise is interested to pick KL Rahul or Shreyas Iyer as their new skipper. The team has a deadline of January 22, 2022 to pick 3 players.

Reports suggest that Ahmedabad is looking to pick Hardik Pandya as the skipper. Reports also claim that Ahmedabad is looking to rope in Ashish Nehra as their head coach. Recently, the franchise sent an IPL contract to Afghan spinner Rashid Khan. Till January 22, the franchise has to pick the 3 players from the pool of released players.
