As per media report The Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have submitted their lists of retained and released players to the BCCI ahead of the next IPL 2023 mini-auction. As per reports, the five-time IPL winner, Mumbai Indians, released Kieron Pollard while CSK retained Ravindra Jadeja.

Chennai Super Kings meanwhile has retained Ravindra Jadeja but have released Chris Jordan, Adam Milne, and Mitchell Santner from the squad. Ahead of IPL 2022, the Yellow Army had named Jadeja as its new skipper replacing the veteran MS Dhoni.

However, under his leadership, CSK had a horrible time during the starting phase of the tournament as Jadeja himself stepped down from the captaincy post before suffering an injury and getting ruled out of the entire tournament. He managed just 116 and five wickets in the 10 matches he played so far.

CSK only managed to win 4 games out of the 14 matches they played in the IPL 2022 season. Chennai has retained 9 players and released 4 players. Chennai has retained Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dubey, Rituraj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Mukesh Chaudhary, Dwayne Pretorius, and Deepak Chahar for the 16th season of IPL. Chris Jordan, Adam Milne, Narayan Jagdeeshan and Mitchell Santner have been released.
