Now another news has come out. There are reports that MS Dhoni is likely to step down from the Chennai captaincy before the start of this season. There is a high possibility that MS Dhoni will play only as a player this season.

It is reported that English player Ben Stokes is likely to become the captain of the Chennai Super Kings team this season. In last year’s mini auction, Ben Stokes fetched Chennai had bought it for Rs.16.25 crores. Currently, Ben Stokes is the captain of the England Test team. In this regard, there are reports that the owners are ready to give Ben Stokes the responsibility of Chennai.

Last year, MS Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy just 10 days before the start of the IPL. Ravindra Jadeja was given the captaincy. After that, Ravindra Jadeja could not bring victory to the team as the captain. He resigned from the captaincy after half the matches. With that, MS Dhoni once again acted as the captain.

But to avoid such a mistake this time, Chennai needs to change the leadership of the team. If that happens, there is a possibility that Chennai Super Kings will play under the leadership of a new captain in this IPL.
