According to BCCI sources, senior players will be selected only for ODI and Test series. BCCI wants to rest Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from the T20 series especially keeping in mind the upcoming ODI World Cup. Having fielded a young team against Sri Lanka, BCCI wants to continue the experiment through the upcoming series.

Because BCCI is planning to build the team now keeping in mind the T20 World Cup to be held next year. Therefore, it is doubtful whether 35-year-old Rohit Sharma will be considered for T20 team selection from now on. Also, Kohli’s T20 future depends on how his form will be in the coming days.
