India vs Australia Test series: The India vs Australia US Border-Gavaskar Trophy starts on February 9 with the first Test in Nagpur. The Test series culminates the WTC 2021-23 cycles. The Men in Blue needs to win the series to qualify for the WTC final. The tour will begin on February 9th with the first Test in Nagpur Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. The Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi will host the second Test from February 17 to 21.

The third Test will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala from March 1 to 5 and the fourth Test will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad from March 9 to 13.

The world’s No. 10 Test bowler Josh Hazlewood will miss the first Test after having not recovered from an Achilles injury on his left leg, which he picked up after bowling in the Sydney Test against South Africa last month.

Star Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who became the second most expensive player in IPL auction history after being signed for Rs 17.5 crore by five-time winners Mumbai Indians, is the third Aussie player who will miss the Nagpur Test.

Like Starc, he also suffered a finger injury in the Boxing Day Test and is a major doubt for the game. He underwent surgery for a fracture in his finger, and according to ESPNCricinfo, the finger will require some more time to heal.

Star Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer will, in all likelihood, miss the first Test. He suffered a back injury before the start of the ODI series against New Zealand last month, from which he has not been able to recover yet and because of which he will miss the series opener in Nagpur.

The 28-year-old Mumbaikar, who made his Test debut in November 2021 against New Zealand, has been an integral member of the Indian Test team and was on fire in the last Test series that India played against Bangladesh in December 2022.

Another star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc will also miss the series opener. He injured his finger during the Boxing Day Test between Australia and South Africa in Melbourne last year.
