IND vs NZ, 2nd ODI: India under pressure to win tomorrow match

India Vs New Zealand, 2nd ODI: Team India returned home empty-handed after a 3-0 defeat in the ODI series against the Kiwis last time. So, now that the T20 series is under their belt, the Indian team has to fight to win the ODI series as well.

India Vs New Zealand who started the three-match ODI series with a defeat, now faces a fire test. In order to win the series, the New Zealand team has made great preparations to give a shock defeat to Shikhar Dhawan’s team, who are under pressure to win the second one-day match. Team India, which has already reached Hamilton for the second ODI, is busy in practice.

In the first match played, despite a huge target, Team India suffered a crushing defeat against the Kiwis. Captain Kane Williamson, who avenged the T20 series defeat in the first one-day match, gave victory to the team with a record innings along with Tom Latham. Now the Kiwis are eager to give the same performance in the second ODI.

Weak bowling department

In the first one-day match, three fifties were scored for Team India. Captain Dhawan, opener Gill and Shreyas Iyer each scored half-centuries to take the  team past the 300 mark. But the bowling department of Team India, which was made up of inexperienced players, was weak in front of the Kiwis batters.

The Kiwis batters crushed the weak bowling department and chased down the target as easily as drinking water. Therefore, before the second ODI, Dhawan’s team has to correct the deficiency in the bowling department. Also, another major reason for the team’s defeat is the absence of a 6th option in bowling. So it remains to be seen what kind of team captain Dhawan will field in the next match.

India must win

Last time too, Team India returned home empty-handed after losing 3-0 in the ODI series against the Kiwis. So, now that the T20 series is under their belt, the Indian team has to fight to win the ODI series as well. There has been a slight setback for Team India as the Meteorological Department has confirmed the information that rain may disrupt the second ODI match. Dhawan’s team needs to win this second ODI to keep the series alive till the last match if the match goes ahead.
