Gujarat Titans Coach Ashish Nehra team India Head Coach

Rahul Dravid’s contract as coach will end after the World Cup. Rahul Dravid has not yet achieved as much success as a coach. Therefore, a similar discussion has started that Rahul Dravid’s address will be cut after the World Cup.

Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra has made a big name as a coach after leading the Gujarat Titans team to the finals in two consecutive editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022 and IPL 2023). Nehra, who had made the Gujarat Titans team the champion in the first edition under his guidance, then made the team reach the finals in the second edition as well.

But Gujarat emerged as the runners-up after losing by five wickets against Chennai Super Kings in the final in front of more than lakh fans. However, Ashish Nehra’s strategy which strengthened the team was praised everywhere for the lack of star players in the team. After that there was a clamor that Nehra should be given the coaching post of Team India.

In fact Rahul Dravid is currently working as the head coach of Team India. But during his tenure, Team India could not win any ICC event. In last year’s T20 World Cup, India’s game ended in the semi-finals. Especially the defeat of 10 wickets made the fans of Team India sleepless. India did not become the champion in the World Test Championship 2023 held after that.

Apart from all this, under the leadership of Rahul Dravid, Team India had a poor performance against some weak teams. Therefore, many former players of Team India, including Harbhajan Singh, urged the selection board to appoint Rahul Dravid as the coach for the Test format only, and Ashish Nehra as the head coach for the other two formats, Test and ODI format.

Ashish Nehra has extensive playing experience, having represented India at the international level for over 18 years. He has also competed in a number of international tournaments, including the World Cup, the Indian Premier League, and the Champions Trophy. Nehra does not, however, have much coaching expertise at the international level.

He has worked as a bowling coach for the Indian cricket team, albeit only for a short time. He has also acted as a coach for several IPL teams. Although he has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a player, it may not be sufficient to prepare him for the difficulties of international coaching.

Earlier, there were many reports that Dravid’s two-year contract as the head coach will end in November and Nehra may get the chance to become India’s head coach. But as report says that, Nehra is not interested in the post of coach of the Indian team as of now. Also, his contract with Gujarat Titans is till IPL 2025. And it is reported that Nehra will decide on the post of head coach only after this contract is over.
