Delhi capitals Player Announced Retirement before IPL 2022 Mega Auction

IPL 2022 mega auction days starts count down, BCCI confirmed that mega auction will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore. In sudden development Delhi Capitals Former player Ross Taylor announced retirement from international cricket before IPL 2022 mega auction.

New Zealand batsman world class cricketer played Delhi Capitals, Royal challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Pune Warriors in Indian Premier League IPL. Kiwi middle order batsman Ross Taylor is known for his sensible and attacking batting. He was a regular member of RCB team from 2008 to 2010. His performance with the bat was excellent in IPL 1 and IPL 2.

Delhi Capitals player Taylor garnered a total of 517 runs from 22 IPL matches at a good average of 31. Overall, Ross Taylor has played 55 IPL matches and scored more than 1000 plus runs to his credit. Unfortunately, for the last few years, the gutsy right-hander is away from IPL tournament due to one reason or another. Veteran batsman Ross Taylor retired from international cricket at the end of the New Zealand’s home season.

Bringing the curtains down on a journey that began in an ODI in Napier against West Indies in March 2006. Ending speculation over his playing future, the 37-year-old confirmed on last month (December 30) that the forthcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh will be his last in the New Zealand whites. IPL Delhi Capitals player will not play the subsequent Tests against South Africa and bow out with six ODIs against Australia and Netherlands later in the summer.

Taylor’s final Test will be at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch and will take his tally of appearances to 112, tying him with Daniel Vettori for the most Tests played by a New Zealand cricketer. It’s been an amazing journey and I feel incredibly fortunate to have represented my country for as long as I have,” Taylor said in a statement. “It’s been such a privilege to play with and against some of the greats of the game and to have created so many memories and friendships along the way.

“But all good things must come to an end and the timing feels right for me. I want to thank my family, friends and all those who have helped me get to this point.
