BCCI announced 15 member Squad for ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has named the 15-member Team India for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 , which will begin on October 5. India captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar held a press conference in Kandy to name the squad. KL Rahul has been selected as India’s leading wicket-keeper batsman while Sanju Samson has been dropped.

Sanju Samson, Thilak Verma and Parshid Krishna, who are currently in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023, have been left out of India’s World Cup squad. Ishan Kishan is the backup wicket keeper who is in great form. Both Washington Sundar and veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have been dropped with a view to bolstering Team India’s batting strength. All-rounders Akshar Patel and Shardul Thakur have secured the spot.

Selection committee chairman Agarkar said that KL Rahul is fit. Although fully recovered from the injury, he did not play in the first two matches of the Asia Cup as he was not fully fit. Rahul, who has now traveled to Sri Lanka, will be available for the next match and will prepare for the World Cup.

The International Cricket Council is going to conduct the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 from 5th October to 19th November 2023 in various Stadiums across India. As per Schedule, all of you will be able to enjoy the gameplay from 5th October 2023 onwards and Finals will be played on 19th November 2023.
