KPCC president DK Shivakumar hinted political retirement

Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar on Friday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after he was summoned again by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. KPCC president DK Shivakumar hinted political retirement.

KPCC President DK Shivakumar said about his retirement from politics saying that I am 60 years old now; I can only do politics for 8 to 10 more years. Speaking to reporters in Ramanagara, DK Shivakumar said that the people of Kanakapura constituency have voted for me and elected me as MLA.

Karnataka Congress president said that he can do politics for another 8 to 10 years, after which he will retire from politics. He spoke about this in a meeting of all the members of the educational institution at his residence in Kanakapura. Before retiring from politics, something should be changed in the educational institution, God has given everything.

Many cases have been filed against me and I feel it all. DK Shivakumar said that he did not get commission for any work, I don’t believe in caste, politics is above. Shivakumar appeared before the ED during the day and later told reporters that he had agreed to submit documents that were sought from him in connection with a probe related to Young India Private Limited.

In a tweet, Shivakumar said political battles must be fought on a similar battlefield and misuse of central agencies to harass opponents will receive a befitting reply for voters. “The misuse of agencies by BJP to harass and intimidate political opponents will get a befitting reply from the people of Karnataka in May 2023,” Shivakumar said, adding the saffron party must understand that agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) cannot address issues of unemployment and price rise.
