Karnataka Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) senior leader A G kodgi dies at 94 at private hospital Udupi district. Mr. A G kodgi (lawyer by education) a revolutionary agriculturist, currently the president of Amasebailu Charitable Trust.

He became MLA 2 times, held chairman role of Third Finance Commission Implementation Task Force, ex-president of Udupi BJP unit, ex-vice president of Karnataka BJP.

Under his leadership, Amasebailu become Karnataka’s first solar-powered Gram Panchayat. The brain behind this project, A G Kodgi, president of Amasebailu Charitable Trust had envisioned the project to provide solar lights to all the households in his village when he was the chairman of Third Finance Commission Implementation Task Force.

1,497 houses in Amasebail to receive the solar lamps. Veteran politician A G Kodgi announced his retirement on October 1 on the occasion of his 84th birthday, after a stint of about 57 years in the political field. The started his political career with Congress party. Later in 1993, He joined BJP and got the opportunity to hold various posts during its regime.
