The Congress is set to get a majority in the Karnataka Assembly elections. The focus now shifts to the next question who will be the next chief minister of Karnataka? Karnataka Next Chief Minister: Satish Jarkiholi name in CM race.

The main contenders are former chief minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress chief DK Shivakumar. D.K. Shivakumar is not the best orator, or the most charismatic, but the Congress and most political observers have attributed the party’s victory in Karnataka to his astute organisational skills.

This assembly election has also seen his rise as a Vokkaliga leader capable of weaning a large chunk of the community away from the hitherto unquestioned Vokkaliga patron H.D. Deve Gowda, the former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) president.

In this election, the Congress won 44 of the 73 seats in 11 districts of southern Karnataka known as ‘Gowda land’. The JD(S) could win only 15 seats in the region, indicating that Shivakumar as the Congress’s face could have swung the community towards the Congress.

There are arguably two mass leaders in Karnataka BS Yediyurappa and Siddaramaiah. With Yediyurappa out of active politics, Siddaramaiah is the tallest leader in the state.

Every exit poll and opinion poll showed him as the number one CM choice. He is also the best choice as far as Congress’ social coalition is concerned. Siddaramaiah revived Congress’ AHINDA base comprising minorities, backward castes, and Dalits.

And in some report says that Yemkanmardi BLA and Belagavi strong leader Satish Laxmanarao Jarkiholi also in Chief Minister Race. But need to wait till today night to get conclusion of who will become next Chief Minister.
