The Karnataka High court was hearing a petition filed against Revanna in connection with the submission of fake documents during the nomination process for the 2019 polls. Shivananda, appearing on behalf of the petition said, “He has been disqualified based on corrupt practices. He suppressed his income amounting to over 24 crore while filing the affidavit during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.”

In 2019, a petition was filed against JDS’ only MP Prajwal Revanna, MP from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, in the High Court for giving false information in the property declaration details and affidavit given during the election.

Prajwal Revanna, who contested as an alliance candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, won in his first attempt. But they have given false information in the affidavit and are trying to mislead people. BJP candidate Arakalagudu Manju, who lost in Hassan, had filed a petition in the High Court on June 26, 2019, demanding that Prajwal’s MP seat should be cancelled.

Prajwal Revanna is the member of the 17th Lok Sabha from Hassan Constituency and also the 3rd youngest member of parliament in India. Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister of India H. D. Deve Gowda and son of H. D. Revanna, former Minister for Public Works Department in Karnataka state. Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, H. D. Kumaraswamy is his uncle.

He graduated as a mechanical engineer from Bangalore Institute of Technology in 2014. He wanted his grandfather to contest from Hassan constituency for Lok Sabha 2019 Indian general election in Karnataka. H. D. Deve Gowda had given up the family stronghold Hassan district for Prajwal’s debut into electoral politics and contested from Tumkur, H D Devegowda was the sitting MP from Hassan constituency. Prajwal’s fortitude seemed to have paid off since he contested and won the Hassan constituency.
