Energy Minister KJ George clarified that the new tenants and those who have built a new house will also get the Gruha jyothi Yojana, and 53 units per month along with 10% free electricity will be available.

Speaking to reporters after holding a meeting with officials of the Energy Department at Vidhana Souda regarding the benefit of the scheme for new tenants and those who built new houses, he said that it has been decided to impose an additional 10% unit usage limit for newly built houses and new tenants with an average of 53units will get free electricity.

This will be applicable for those who have not received account for one year. After 12 months the average is taken and a new average is determined. Until then, there will be an additional 10% usage limit along with 53 units. He said that they will also be given free electricity up to 200 units after the year.

The Chief Minister has already clarified about the condition of 200 units of free electricity. There is no power shortage in the state at present. Although monsoon is late in the state, there is a window of time till August. We are confident that the rain will fall full. Further, solar energy and wind energy are being used, he said.

10% extra with 53 units monthly:

New tenants and new house builders will also get the benefit of Gruha Jyothi Yojana. Energy Minister KJ George said that 10% free electricity will be available along with 53 units per month.

The launch of the Gruha Jyothi Yojana has been announced in an effort to raise the living conditions of Karnataka state residents. According to this plan, if a citizen uses 200 units of power, they are exempt from paying the electricity bill.

Let us inform you that each family can typically save about Rs 1000 each month with this program. Consequently, the inhabitants’ economic issues with power will be resolved. Both online and offline applications will be accepted for the Karnataka Free Electricity Scheme.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on last week that the “Gruha Jyothi” free power program would begin on August 1 and the “Gruha Lakshmi” program, which offers Rs 2,000 in monthly support to women who are designated as family heads, on August 17 or 18.

The Chief Minister had a high-level meeting with senior government officials today to discuss the implementation of both programs, which are a component of the Congress’ five poll guarantees. The administration intends to introduce the Gruha Jyothi program on August 1 in Kalaburgi, while negotiations have taken place regarding the introduction of the Gruha Lakshmi program on August 17 or 18 in Belagavi.
