B Y Vijayendra Appointed as Karnataka BJP President

BJP National President JP Nadda has appointed B Y Vijayendra as the state president of Karnataka BJP. With this, Karnataka BJP has got a new charioteer. The appointment of B Y Vijayendra has now created a new sensation in the state.

After Nalin Kumar Kateelu’s resignation as the Karnataka state BJP president, there was a lot of discussion about the appointment of a new state president. There was a discussion about the appointment of Shikaripura MLA B Y Vijayendra, son of former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa. Finally the BJP High Command has appointed the State BJP President.

Former CM Yeddyurappa has again dominated the Karnataka BJP. The issue of BJP state president’s election has created a lot of interest in the state politics day by day. Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, KS Eshwarappa, CT Ravi, R. Ashok, V Somanna, Basanagowda Patila Yatnal and many other names were heard for the post of BJP state president. But finally Vijayendra’s name is finalised. In the wake of the Lok Sabha elections, Vijayendra’s appointment has become more important.

B Y Vijayendra, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, has been serving as the state BJP vice-president since 2020. He served as the general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Karnataka State Yuva Morcha. Vijayendra was a lawyer and involved himself in politics.

After BS Yeddyurappa, who represented the Shikaripura assembly constituency for many decades, retired from electoral politics, Vijayendra contested from Shikaripura in the last Assembly election and was elected to the assembly. During the BJP government, B Y Vijayendra had brought BJP victory in two by-elections.

B Y Vijayendra also played an important role in running the BJP government in the state. But even though the party came to power and Yeddyurappa’s father was elected as Chief Minister, he did not hold any post in the government. Instead, he involved himself in party organization.

With the Lok Sabha elections approaching, the BJP high command has given a masterstroke to the Congress party by appointing Lingayat community member B Y Vijayendra to the state. Okkaliga community leader HD Kumaraswamy’s JDS party has joined hands with the BJP. Vijayendra, a Lingayat community, is now the state president, which has brought strength to the state BJP.
