Secluded places becoming black spots in cultural city Mysuru

Mysuru: The cultural city also called as the heaven of retired persons, now hit headlines following gang rape of an MBA student. This is first-ever incident reported in the city.

Decades back lovers, college boys’ girls spending time at Kukkaralli lake, Karanji lake. After the authorities restricted timings for these places’ youths selected places outskirts of the city.  Though there are parks in heart of the city youths likes outer ring road areas and slopes of Chamundi hills as it enables more privacy.

In Kukkaralli lake authorities allowed walkers in the morning and evening, restricted entry of publics. Though Karanji lake has entry for public security guards does not allow to sit for more time. Hence for 4-5 years the hot spots outside city gaining popular among lovers.

Daivivana marg  ,nandi marg, Lalitadripura marg beside Chamundi hills,  Lalitmahal palace road, park opposite helipad, park opposite torch light parade ground in Banni mantap, Hanumanthanagara road, road beside JSS medical institute, road connecting JC college to Hunsur, second phase of Rajeev nagar, Bogadi ring road, Uttanalli ring road, park opposite Akashavani circle, park in Vijayanagara second stage become hotspots.

In uttanahalli ring road, lalitmahal palace road people parks vehicle on road, going to secluded place for alcoholic parties. The localites does not bother about it. Police says only outsiders visiting these places daily. Most people coming here for just partying. Though there is law prohibiting consumption of alcohol in public places, lack of police beat paving way for partying.
