Jamie Zhang, an Amazon employee and a software engineer, has published a message on LinkedIn that he has been fired by the company.

 My one and a half year stint at Amazon Robotics AI has come to an end. Employment ended with surprise dismissal. He wrote that our entire robotics team has been fired. According to LinkedIn, there are 3,766 employees in Amazon’s robotics team. The actual number of employees is yet to be confirmed, reports Business Today.

An official response from Amazon regarding the layoffs is awaited, the report said. Amazon has advised those working in unprofitable units to find other jobs. Because the ‘Wall Street Journal’ reported last week that their projects are likely to end at any moment.

Meta, the company that owns social media like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has laid off 11,000 people a few days ago. Before that, more than 3,500 people were fired from the micro blogging site Twitter. Before that, tech giant Microsoft had laid off around 1,000 employees.
