In view of the ‘Ram Lalla Prana Pratisthan‘ ceremony to be held in Ayodhya on January 22, Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that all central government offices will be closed for half a day. The decision, motivated by overwhelming public sentiment, was aimed at allowing officials to participate in or observe a significant event.

Meanwhile, Shree Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra confirmed that the Ram Lalla idol was brought to the sanctorum of the Ram temple on Wednesday night. Presently the idol is placed in the ‘Garbhagriha’.

A special pooja was held in the sanctorum before the installation of the idol. The installation of the idol in the sanctorum is expected to take place on Thursday, Mishra said. The idol was transported to the temple using a truck as part of the rituals before the installation ceremony on January 22. As part of the formal preparations, ‘Kalash Pooja’ was performed on Wednesday.

The central government has decided to celebrate the dedication of the Ram temple in Ayodhya in a festive manner. Meanwhile, the Bar Association of India has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court requesting that January 22 be declared as a holiday.

Matters requiring urgent hearing can be settled through special arrangements, the letter said. “This holiday will allow lawyers and court staff to participate in or observe the inauguration ceremonies in Ayodhya and other related events across the country,” said Manan Kumar Mishra, senior advocate of the Supreme Court who is the president of the Bar Council.

If the leave is granted, judges, lawyers and court employees from all over the country will be able to watch the Ram Mandir Prana Prathistana program ceremony and its related programs. The letter requested that this appeal be considered with the utmost sympathy and appropriate steps be taken to celebrate this historic occasion in accordance with the sentiments of the people.
